i know most women are looking for a quick, easy answer to weight loss…and if this was super possible, there probably wouldnt be too much obesity in the world..but im going to ask the silly question anyway! i have been dieting using weight watchers for about 6 weeks now…ive lost 16 pounds (which is great because i do cheat a little more than i should!) i gained like 3 pounds back..oops! im trying to get back on track…anyway, i want to lose at least those 3 again by halloween…anyone know how to lose a few pounds quick without starving themselves? i dont intend on any answers to be a permanent diet..im just disappointed and want to be the same weight as when i tried on and purchased the costume..i know this is a silly question, but any answers would be great!!! thanks icon smile few pound weight loss?

Hmm, by Halloween, huh? It’s really not that difficult to do, you are only trying to lose three. The norm is 2-3 pds per week, according to my trainer, but you may actually be able to lose more. I would suggest you start with a colon cleanse. Absolute best way to get rid of 2-3 pds easily. Next, eat veggies all day long. No carbs, no sugars, no fast food. Turn yourself into a vegetarian for a week (for the cause icon smile few pound weight loss? Drink a boat load of water. No sodas, no teas, no coffee, and none of those wonderful sweeteners that you add to the water to make it taste better. Just good old fashioned H2O. If you exercise 20-30 mins per day, three days this week, you can have 3 pds or more off by Halloween. And when I say exercise, I don’t mean you have to go to the gym, per se. I did yard work and lost 1.8 pds. Just by pulling weeds out of my garden and pouring Miracle Gro on my plants. You can also grab a good DVD tape or find something on YouTube that you can work out to.

I’d recommend resistance training along with cardio no more than twice a week. Maybe 15 minutes each to start but as you adjust to the exercises you will need to increase the time and resistance (just a little) cardio increase maybe 2 minutes and resistance add about 2-5 pounds. Eliminate sugar intake for the next few weeks. After that just monitor your sugar intake. Do this with fat intake as well. You will need to calorie count if you are serious about this and take in no more than 2000 calories and no less than 1500 calories a day, doing all of this immediately will get you rapid and awesome healthy results. I am a mother of a 3 year old and a 4 month old. I was put on the birth control mirena and find it hard to loose weight. I was given a bottle of lean balance and was wondering if this is a good product. I also heard about slim quick made for women, is this also a good product. True Weight Loss Stories!!!?
I know alot of ppl like me wanna lose weight quick and don’t know what to believe works. I am going to be 20 in a few days sooo about4 years ago when I graduated high school I weighed about 320 pounds and im 6 feet tall. Well about 2 years ago I had a lump in my throat and had to have it drained. Of course I was in the hospital for about 5 days and didn’t have much of an appetite so I lost 20 pounds. Then I decided to workout and keep losing more. I used the Dancing With The Stars cardio dance dvd and the Core Rythms dvds. I love doing dancing workouts they are fun so it really doesn’t seem like your exercising. When I was in the hospital I had high blood sugar and developing diabetes. But doing those dvds I lost alot of weight and now the doctors said the diabetes was gone I just gotta keep up the workouts. Of course with working out I did stop drinking regular soda and only drank diet soda and water. I tried really hard to not eat sweets and if I ate at a restaurant I would try to get salads. But I lost 50 pounds doing this. I’ll admit I got lazy and quit and gained some of it back cuz I was pregnant. I miscarried and got depressed so I always ate and didn’t bother working out. I’m getting back on track and trying to use working out to deal with the stress and sadness of the loss of my baby instead of always eating. I read weight loss stories like mine and its inspiration for me. I hope I can help any other women or even men get inspired. Any other people have a story please post it by answering this “question”.

good for you! dancing is a great way to exercise. i hate to feel like im exercising, but doing cardio thats fun and keeps you thinking about other stuff certainly helps pass the time. i adopted a veggie diet more for personal beliefs, but i know a lot of folks who are veggies for health. when you stop eating meat its amazing how rapidly the weight goes away at first. i mean, unless you replace the meat with junk, youll lose some weight at first. if you cant/dont want to give up meat altogether, have a day or week or month where you eat little or no meat. if you do love your meat, keep it on the light side, poultry and fish..much better for you too. if you dont have one, maybe get a pilates ball. theyre a lot of fun and really help build muscle ((which will in turn burn more fat even while youre not exercising)). i dont really have a story of my own, but i love to hear how people saw the proverbial light and rescued themselves from possibe impending health problems. plus you just feel better too when youre healthy. keep up the good work! icon smile few pound weight loss?

I am a 26 year old guy and I currently weigh around 580lbs. I want to begin losing weight and have cut my calorie in take. I work from home and do not get out much. For someone your size, the best way to reduce your size will be calorie restriction. If you where to lower your caloric intake to around 2500 calories, you would see vast improvements relatively quick.

As far as exercise, any sort of activity will do. Walk when you can. Any sort of intense exercise regiment should be reserved until you drop some weight or under the guidance of a doctor, not a personal trainer and not a nutritionist (unless they where recommended by your doctor).

any type of cardio i.e. bike, treadmill, eliptical.

Weights would also be a great addition.

A lot of gyms will allow you to have a personal trainer for free the first couple times. I’d look into that.

Congratulations on your new arrival! I hope all is going well and you are getting some sleep!

I have a 3 year old and just found out that I’m pregnant again myself, Yeah!

Anyway, to answer your question, it’s pretty simple; calories in – calories out. The hardest part about this is tracking. Most people tend to under-estimate their caloric intake.

I would suggest that you start by simply writing down an example day of what you’d typically eat and calculate the number of calories. You can simply use 1500 as your base minimum or look up your specific body type to know how many calories over or under you are. Reduce your caloric intake to your base and get on a good exercise program. Then you’ll have a good starting point!

However, I totally recommend Body-For-Life as a simple way to eat & exercise without counting calories. My husband and I have been following that for almost ten years and it’s been very good to us. Since we’ve been working out for so long, we’ve read and tried almost everything just to keep it exciting. I actually wrote an article that sums up a few of the standout programs:

P.S. Whatever you do, don’t think you can be like the biggest loser and lose 10 pounds per week. A good goal is 1-2 pounds per week as a healthy woman. Just use TBL as motivation.

That is true about breast feeding, but you need to get your calorie intake way up to produce milk. 30 to 45 minutes a day of sweat producing cardio. Run, walk, bike…just get your heart pumping and break a sweat. My trainer has told me the rule of thumb with eating is to ask yourself this “could my grandmother have eaten this?” ie potatoes from a box or sugar cereals, than you shouldn’t eat it. Raw fruits, veggies and lean meats. And most of all keep at it and don’t give up. Get a picture of how you looked pre baby and post it on your fridge…that helped me!!!

Eat right and eat smaller portions. Get exercise even if it’s walking with your baby. Put them in the stroller and walk at least a half an hour each day. Drink lots of water and stay away from pop and fast foods.

Thin women.. what’s your diet/meal plan on an average day?
I use to be very thin and didn’t eat a lot, but ate whatever i wanted. After a few years and a desk job where I hardly move, I have gained weight and my appetite has increased.

I want to lose at least 30 lbs and get my body used to eating much much less, and healthier food.

I’d like some examples of what you eat to help me…

I go to the gym once every day for an hour. Then I just kind of watch what I eat, not really though.

first thing i do in the morning is eat breakfast. i have the same thing everyday (except on special occasions ) i eat a bowl of either vector cereal, mini wheats or this honey and oats cereal. all contain a generous amount of fiber. i then have one small serving cup of activia yogurt and one banana. i have a glass of water and take my multivitamin and omega 3 capsule.

i ALWAYS take a 32 oz bottle of water to work with me everyday (i pretty much only drink water all day everyday and one glass of milk before bed). for lunch i usually eat left overs from dinner and a piece of fruit with my meal.

dinner can be anything from a roast, pizza, pasta, salmon etc. i always have a piece of fruit after dinner. so that’s three pieces of fruit daily i eat.

after dinner i will snack on veggies,small bag of chips, 3 or 4 cookies, maybe another fruit just depends on what i feel like.

i think the most important thing is getting exercise. without enough exercise its hard to lose weight. personally i work a very physically demanding job but i also do a lot of hiking, walking and biking and swim a lot during the summer so i am a very active person. i hope this helps!

I know how you feel… when I finished school and got a job in my field, I started sitting A LOT but eating the same as I did when I was on the run. At 5’9, I went from 135 lbs to almost 150 in a year. I was always active (I’m a spinning instructor on the side, and I do Pilates and weight training at the gym), but didn’t have a particularely healthy diet… I would eat a lot of crap. 6 months ago I decided to change my eating habits, and today I weigh 131 (less than before my desk job!)

My workout routine is just as intense before, but my diet is what has changed. I don’t eat anything processed, no fast food, no junk, no pop. I eat tons of fruits and veggies, whole grains and protein. I still eat a lot ( I have a snack every 3 or 4 hours), but it’s usually some fruit. I don’t go hungry, my skin looks great, and I have tons of energy. My only vice is coffee, but I take it with only a bit of milk. I truly believe that a clean diet is the way to go to lose weight and keep it off, you just have to commit to it for the long-term. Good luck!

ABS Diet For Women, Successful or Not?
My fiancee has been on the ABS Diet for Men for months now, and it has worked well for him. I have tried to follow along the same regimen, but find it more taliored for men, and I was wondering if the ABS Diet for Women may offer a more structured plan for women. I don’t want to go out and buy the book if it has all the same information we already have in the one for men.

Also, I was considering the Leg Magic machiene that has been on the informercials. Has anyone used this and seen results?

Finally, what meal plans do you tend to follow when trying to reach a goal weight? We eat the normal chicken, fish, brown rice, cottage cheese and plenty of spinach greens, but that gets so boring after a while. Any suggestions?

I have the book for women and have been only on it for 2 weeks and it seems to follow the same basic diet, the only difference it the women’s book has some different exercises just for ladies and outlines things like hormones and dieting and has a section about pregnancy. It seems pretty close to the same. I wouldn’t waste your money on the other book either. I am like you the diet, (which I have been on a new eating plan since March) it does get boring and it seems I am taking more “breaks” from it lately just because I get bored of eating the same stuff and want something else. I have been trying to stick to it through the week and then allowing myself some extras on the weekend or for a special occasion. I think if you just eat healthy, get the exercise and don’t overeat, eat too much of the “good junk food” you will be fine and you will see a difference. If you don’t like the weights you can do some of the same stuff with resistance bands too. Good Luck

I laughed when I read this, sounds like me! I did Abs diet, it works but I thought not as well as the book said it would. Body for Life worked for me, but it is strict and you do get one free day a week. I am working on becoming muscular and toned not lose weight so it depends on your goal. 85% of the work to be fit/toned is our diet. If you want somethimg new try BFL, but make sure you are ready for the workouts 6 days a week!

Needing help with a diet plan for 45kg woman wanting to get into figure shaping.?
I weigh 45kg, and am exercising and training with heavy weights to try and achieve a muscular physique. I also take a high protein shake after training,but have been told i need to eat at least 5 smaller meals a day. Each meal has to contain 23g protein, 27g carbs, and 9g fat. It is absolutely doing my head in trying to work out a meal plan with all these requirements in mind. Does anybody have any plans or meal ideas incorporating these figures? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
